Elon Musk’s Interview with Donald Trump Disrupted by Technical Glitch
Elon Musk’s highly anticipated interview with former President Donald Trump was off to a rocky start on Monday as a technical glitch disrupted the audio conversation on the X Spaces platform. Just eighteen minutes into the scheduled 8 p.m. ET interview, Musk took to Twitter to announce that the platform was under a “massive” denial-of-service attack (DDOS), a malicious tactic used to overload websites with traffic and take them offline.
Despite the efforts to rectify the situation, reports from users unable to access X prior to the interview continued to pour in, indicating a widespread issue. Eventually, at 8:42 pm, the interview finally kicked off, albeit delayed.
Trump’s History with Technical Issues on X Platform
This was not the first time that Trump’s involvement with the X platform had been marred by technical difficulties. In May 2023, during an interview on X, a glitch affected the smooth flow of the conversation. The former President had also previously mocked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis during the launch of his primary campaign, hinting at potential future conflicts.
Trump’s inflammatory remarks on social media platforms have often drawn attention, with his “Truth” social network serving as a platform for his unfiltered opinions. In May 2023, Trump criticized DeSantis, predicting a disastrous campaign ahead for the Florida Governor.
Challenges Faced by DeSantis and Outcome
The technical issues faced by DeSantis during his own campaign events have been noteworthy, with server strains and high demand causing disruptions. Despite attempts to address these challenges, technical glitches persisted, impacting the effectiveness of his communication with the audience.
Ultimately, the setbacks proved detrimental to DeSantis’ campaign, leading to his withdrawal from the race after a disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses. The combination of technical issues and other factors contributed to his decision to step back from the political arena.
