Hot and Humid Weather in South Florida
South Florida is experiencing a hot and humid Saturday, with temperatures soaring to 103 to 107 degrees Fahrenheit. A heat advisory is in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward counties from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Actual temperatures will reach the low 90s, with isolated showers and storms possible in the western parts of the region.
Increasing Chance of Rainfall
As humidity levels rise, the chance of rainfall in South Florida also increases over the next few days. While there may be some Saharan dust moving in, causing a hint of haze on Sunday, moisture is expected to prevail and lead to scattered showers and storms early in the week. The chances of rain will remain high at 40-60% on Monday and Tuesday before drier air returns.
Tropical Disturbances in the Atlantic
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring new disturbances in the central tropical Atlantic Ocean. With a low 20% chance of formation over the next seven days, the disturbance is expected to move west-northwest near or over the Lesser and Greater Antilles. Although the U.S. is not currently at risk, it is a reminder that the busiest months of hurricane season (August-October) are approaching, and it’s important to stay informed and prepared.
