New Funding Program for Bitcoin Developers
Arthur Hayes’ Maelstrom Fund has recently launched a new funding program aimed at supporting developers of the Bitcoin blockchain. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to developers working on enhancing various aspects of the Bitcoin technology.
Generous Grants Available
The Maelstrom Bitcoin Grants Program offers developers funding opportunities ranging from $50,000 to $150,000 for a period of 12 months. The program also allows for stacking of grants, potentially providing up to $250,000 per developer. This generous financial support is intended to attract top talent and drive significant advancements in Bitcoin technology.
Supporting Bitcoin’s Technical Development
According to the announcement, the primary goal of the program is to aid Bitcoin’s technical development and enhance its resilience, scalability, censorship resistance, and privacy features. The Maelstrom Fund is committed to supporting Bitcoin developers through an open and transparent funding process. Grants are issued in Bitcoin, USD Coin, and Tether USDT, and the application deadline is on August 25th.
In addition, each candidate will have the opportunity for an interview with a member of the Review Committee before the grant is awarded. Arthur Hayes, former CEO of BitMEX and current chief information officer of Maelstrom, emphasized the program’s dedication to transparency in the funding process.
The Maelstrom Fund’s initiative reflects a growing trend of private sector support for cryptocurrency development, showcasing the increasing importance of innovation in the blockchain space.
