Perdue Foods Recalls Over 167,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets Due to Contamination
Perdue Foods, a well-known poultry producer, has issued a recall for more than 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and tenders. This recall comes after some customers reported finding wires embedded in the products, raising concerns about potential contamination.
Identification of Contaminated Products
The recall includes select lots of three products: Perdue Breaded Chicken Breasts, Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets, and Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, along with Perdue, determined that approximately 167,171 pounds of these products may have been contaminated by foreign matter.
Safety Precautions and Consumer Guidance
Perdue has taken proactive measures to ensure consumer safety by recalling all affected packages. Despite no confirmed injuries or adverse reactions from consuming the products, the Food Safety and Inspection Service advises consumers to check their refrigerators for the recalled items.
