Valour Launches NEAR ETP on Sweden’s Spotlight Stock Market
Valour, a cryptocurrency fund issuer, has introduced a new exchange-traded product (ETP) for Near Protocol’s native token NEAR. The NEAR ETP will be listed on Sweden’s Spotlight stock market, offering both retail and institutional investors access to a decentralized application development platform.
Valour’s Diverse ETP Product Portfolio
Valor already manages one of the largest Solana ETPs, Valor Solana, and provides various staking products, including ETPs for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Web Computer. Elaine Buehler, head of product at Valour, emphasized the significance of the new NEAR ETP, highlighting its potential to grant investors exposure to a technology that is revolutionizing decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Near Protocol, with a market capitalization of approximately $6.8 billion, aims to address common blockchain development challenges and is ranked among the top 20 digital assets globally, according to CoinMarketCap.
Growing Interest in Cryptocurrency ETPs
The launch of the NEAR ETP comes amidst a wave of U.S. regulatory approvals for cryptocurrency investment products. Major investment firms like BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and VanEck have received preliminary approval to list the first exchange-traded Ethereum products. This development is expected to pave the way for more cryptocurrency ETPs in the U.S., potentially including a Solana-based ETF.
Valour’s parent company, DeFi Technologies, currently manages around $600 million in assets across various crypto-native strategies. The recent acquisition of trading platform Stillman Digital is poised to bolster the capabilities of the Canadian crypto platform, positioning it as a strong competitor against industry giants like Galaxy Digital.
